Well at least they are doing the right thing on Reynolds. He has asked for a trade and they have literally been listening to offers on him since early last season. All the teams they talk to say their trade demands are incredibly high....which they should be, He is a borderline star player that they have control of for the next 4 years. They have all the leverage and have made it be known that they will only accept a couple top notch prospects who are very close to making the jump to the majors. Understandably most teams balk at those demands but to their credit they aren't coming off of them. If no team jumps, keep Reynolds. But I suspect someone eventually will.

Sad that cheapass Nutting won't spend $ to build around Reynolds and others. He'd rather jettison BR and "rebuild".

Baseball is structured to allow people to be cheap if they choose. Obviously sucks for the small markets but it ain't changing any time soon. The Pirates are on the cusp of competing again for the next few years. But a few years is all it will be. Then they will start over again. Nature of the beast sadly.
