I don't love taking a RB in the 1st but I do think Harris might be worth it if he is there at 24.

Yeah, I hear 'ya, but the last two Bama backs taken in the first two rounds have turned out to pretty good.

Goddammit, slash, this thing is addictive. I don't like my second draft nearly as much as the first, no matter what the site says.

Your score is: 42230 (GRADE: A)

Your Picks:

Round 1 Pick 24: Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virgina Tech (A-)
Round 2 Pick 24: Chuba Hubbard, RB, Oklahoma State (A-)
Round 3 Pick 23: JaCoby Stevens, FS/SS, LSU (A-)
Round 4 Pick 28 (BALT): Ambry Thomas, CB, Michigan (A+)
Round 4 Pick 36 (COMP): Anthony Schwartz, WR, Auburn (A+)
Round 5 Pick 38 (BALT): Brenton Cox, DE/OLB, Florida (A+)
Round 6 Pick 27: Chase Allen, TE, Iowa State (A+)
Round 6 Pick 41 (COMP): Aubrey Solomon, DT, Tennessee (A+)
Round 7 Pick 18: Bobby Brown, DE, Texas A&M (A+)
Round 7 Pick 28: Carson Green, OT, Texas A&M (A+)

Legit LT, legit starting RB (who will remind us how much black lives matter so that's even better), lots of help in the secondary, an NFL-worthy TE, and a flier at OLB.

To me taking an RB in the first is a waste. We need to rebuild the oline first. I think Harris is a good back, but wont do any good w/o a line. We also need Dline. Heyward and Tuitt are not spring chickens. My order of need would be OT(s), C, G, Dline, CB, RB. Could throw in TE depending on Ebron and Vance, and of course QB depending on Ben. I would rather look at a vet QB if Ben retires and I dont think any upper QBs will be left for the first round.

JC is a free agent which leaves the position pretty weak. I think the position should be addressed semi early.

True....I can't picture JC costing that much, but he can't stay healthy regardless. I would still wait till at least round 3 for an RB though. With all the QBs expected to go in round 1 and im sure Smith will be taken in round 1 that should leave us a nice talent to choose from

I guess it depends on what they do in free agency. But their style isn't to let a LT go and have to reach for a T. So I presume there is a chance they bring in a free agent T. Or move Chukes over. But regardless a T will be drafted high I presume. Which gives the possibility of seeing a RB in rd 2or 3.

I doubt Collins gets out of the first let alone makes it to our 4th.

Hey Slash, I remember how much you loved Dobbins. Would you consider Harris a much better or the same in talent? What are the differences,
So what I see from Harris so far. Toughness, determination, good vision. Very capable pass catcher and blocker. A upright runner seems like a cross between Henry for the Titans and Lev Bell. Don't think he will show to have the same burst as Dobbins when he tests just a different type of back. With Harris he can follow his blockers but just as well bounce it outside. I think there is enough there to upgrade anything the Steelers have had this year. In my first mock I picked him but if I remember right the T I liked was off the board. Really similar to how a lot of drafts unfold with runs on tackles. Think he will show to be a little faster than Bell and perhaps a little slower than Dobbins we'll see. But this isn't a track meet. He is capable of being an every down back. And you can't go wrong with his effort and vision. I like the kid I am sure he will be in my top 5 wants for a first rounder as I keep digging.

as a Vols fan, you do not want anything to do with any Vols this year with the exception of the OL.
Trey Smith is going to be a good one.

*Ty Chandler is transferring and not entering the draft*

My plan: Find a way to keep Ben, retool offense to more of a power-run scheme to help Ben. I think Ben today is still better than Ben in his 1st 3 years, so lets give him some help. I would let most of our free agents walk. Maybe keep a couple like Connor and Dupree if they are willing to take team friendly deals.

Your score is: 41478 (GRADE: A)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 24: Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virgina Tech (A-)- Harris was available at RB in both 1st and second rounds but I believe the biggest problem our run game has is the Online, RB can be addressed later or by free agency/just use guys we have with better blocking.

Round 2 Pick 24: Trey Hill, C/OG, Georgia (B+)- Not our typical pulling type center, but maybe it's time to try something different. Dude is huge and excels at getting push, something our line has been lacking.

Round 3 Pick 23: Zamir White, RB, Georgia (A+)- Good down hill runner, doesn't dance around according to scouting reports. Could use some more weight on his frame.

Round 4 Pick 24: Zaven Collins, DE/OLB, Tulsa (A+)- Dupree leaving was a forgone conclusion until his injury, maybe he comes back now cheaper? Highsmith showed some flashes, adding another pass rusher would be wise. TJ can unleash when the blocking schemes are kept honest by opposite side pressure.

Round 4 Pick 36 (COMP): TJ Vasher, WR, Texas Tech (A+)- JuJu's replacement.

Round 6 Pick 27: Levi Onwuzurike, DT, Washington (A+)- Wouldn't be a Steeler draft without a name I can't pronounce. Takes Alue-Alue's role potentially.

Round 6 Pick 41 (COMP): Jordyn Peters, CB, Auburn (A+)- Nelson could be a cap casualty and Heydan isn't getting any younger. Keep developing young DB's.

Round 7 Pick 18: Kevin Jarvis, OG, Michigan State (A+)- Line development project.

Round 7 Pick 28: Feleipe Franks, QB, Arkansas (A+)- Wether Ben comes back or not, we should start drafting QB's every year, throw em at the wall and see what sticks.

Your Future Picks:
2022 Round 1 Pick
2023 Round 1 Pick

What did you think of my Harris breakdown? I know you have watched him a lot.

Sent from my moto g(7) power using Steeler Nation mobile app

Excellent assessment, Slash. I would agree the Harris is a faster and larger version of Lev Bell. His elusiveness is subtle and, IMO, there is too much talent to pass on (with him) if we want to keep pace w/ the running attacks of both Baltimore and Cleveland. Those are just the facts.

Personally, I don't see it (anymore) in McFarland and I'd rather keep Conner and JaySam around to rebuild this rushing attack w/ a new stallion.

Here's my latest mock from this morning - can you say "BOOM"?!?

Your score is: 43126 (GRADE: A)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 24: Najee Harris, RB, Alabama (B) - no need to explain; we need a blue chipper at RB. This has been THAT GUY in college for two years straight. We'll be lucky if he's still here.
Round 2 Pick 24: Dillon Radunz, OT, North Dakota State (A+) - thank you for your service Big Al (as a veteran and w/ the Steelers). You're contract will not be renewed so we need a better version of you early in the draft.
Round 3 Pick 23: Caden Sterns, FS/SS, Texas (A+) - kind of on the fence. Terrell Edmunds is a complimentary SS; but I need a playmaker---Sterns can be that guy. Excellent compliment to Minkah.
Round 4 Pick 24: Ben Cleveland, C/OG, Georgia (A+) - don't be silly - the SEC is the BEST conference in college football. Cleveland is a great addition upfront and an anchor for 10 years.
Round 4 Pick 36 (COMP): Landon Dickerson, C, Alabama (A+) - STEAL OF THE DRAFT!!! This kid could be the G.O.A.T at C - again, homer be damned.
Round 6 Pick 27: Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida (A+) - you want more weapons on offense? I'm not going to compare him to Tyreek Hill but his game is very similar. New KR/PR threat as well.
Round 6 Pick 41 (COMP): Naquan Jones, DT, Michigan State (A+) - love to see what this kid can do paired up w/ Buggs in the future.
Round 7 Pick 18: Feleipe Franks, QB, Arkansas (A+) - some of you will laugh at this pick. I want a QB w/ heart and one that wants to win every game. Period. We don't have the capitol to get Matt Jones - Franks is a diamond in the rough.
Round 7 Pick 28: Jamar Watson, DE/OLB, Kentucky (A+) - Need more help at OLB. I really want Dupree back but I just don't know how the cards fall there.
