Trailer Park (House lol) Boys. First three seasons were glorious. High point was when Randy was cooking Viagra laced cheese burgers and Steve French the mountain lion ate them and proceeded to violate Trevor who was wearing a Leopard trimmed second hand leather jacket.

Coaches routinely have to answer this question and Tomlin set the standard for denying interest in another job. I'm not sure anyone has even come this close to flat out denying interest in leaving for another job.

So I watched the clip finally. Maybe it was not fully in context if the entire presser (I don't know). But he went off pretty hard for a respectfully asked question. The guy more wanted to know if Tomlin knew where the rumor started.

He was mentioned because of his people skills and able to relate. That is a big big part of being a college head coach for recruiting purposes. I don't know, may have been a slight over reaction by Tomlin.
That's the thing though. In the NFL you just have to coach football. In college ball coaching is only half your job, the other half is recruiting, which is a pain in the ***.

Tomlin is going nowhere! Why the hell would he leave the most secure job in sports where he makes millions each year? Of course those college programs could pay him more, a lot more, but he would never have the security he enjoys here. He has two, three seasons of mediocre results with one of those pressure cooker programs, the alumni would already be calling for his head. Nah, he’s not risking it and leaving a gravy job.

But if you get on a good team recruitment becomes perpetual. Successful team equals players wanting to be a part of it. I know he is sure as **** not going to USC, but I can wish.

EXACTLY steelhurt !!!

If Tomlin were a college coach he would have been replaced near three times possibly four. New QB every three to four years............... meaning a VERY good QB COULD ONLY COVER HIS *** FOR 2-3 YEARS (sorry caps).

Maybe he would do well, recruiting would be a strong point for him thus bringing in maybe upper-level talent.

I'm just glad the rumor is shut down, we know he isn't going anywhere & the media can **** off

Probably been getting this question "off the record" for awhile now. The "this is the last time I'll address this" comment certainly points in that direction. Throw in Ryan Clark and Carson Palmer feeding the fire nationally ... Well, it's only human to get fed up with "speculation" and "rumors" about you, your job, etc.
All Ryan said was he would love Tomlin to coach his alma-malter LSU. He played for him and speaks highly of him, but knows the college ranks isn’t his goal. Carson however, was talking in third person to alumni trying to drive interest (or see if there is interest without asking). Not to mention, there are friggin “national media insiders” trying to shovel stories.

Wow, I've never seen Tomlin this fired up in a presser.

He was asked about the rumors of coaching college ball, and he went off that got up and walked out.

That's my Coach!!

Tomlin on USC rumors "I don't have time for that speculation. That's a joke to me. I've of one of the best job in all of professional sport. Why would I have any interest in coaching college football? Never say never. But never. There's not a booster with a big enough blank check"
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) October 26, 2021

Tomlin: "Anybody asking Sean Payton about that? Anybody asking Andy Reid about stuff like that?"

-end scene- https://t.co/ZUwiZpuohT
— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) October 26, 2021

Now if he would just hand the opposing Coach their *** on Sundays.

I hope rumors are true, but who knows. I also wouldn't take Tomlin's denial as the gospel either. He would be dumb to leave a place where he can do a mediocre at best job and not have to worry about job security. I think coaching college would be more difficult for multiple reasons. There is the recruiting aspect, academics, scholorships, new team basically every year etc etc...

Waste of time...they're all nearly even.
Wrong. Both Payton and Reid have had multiple losing seasons.... Payton had what..3 in a row or something like that? Tomlin? NONE, and a SB, plus he's a future hall of fame coach. The only reason for bringing this up, or creating a rumor is because of racism...this didn't come into being organically. That's why Tomlin reacted the way he did. The Steelers run into a few hiccups and suddenly the black man is in over his head...maybe he needs to take some crappy college job more suited to his lesser abilities. He's the coach of THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS! Why would you leave? Why would anyone even imagine that you would leave? The answer is plain as day...we live in a sick society from top to bottom, in all aspects; sports, religion, politics,(Jan.6 anyone?)

I would have thrown the chair I was sitting in at the reporter, but then the reporter probably didn't even understand the implications of the question, so not really his fault. Just another NPC repeating racist garbage.

USC just wants to check off the I talked to a black coach box

I think your on the right track.. But i dont think they are just paying lip service. I think he is perfect for the wokeness that USC wants to be. I think Tomlin saw thru that and is offended by it. Its not because of his awesome x's and o's.

Well thank you. I won't comment on the dragging part. I was addressing Bermuda Steel as I saw in his avatar that he is a minority and so am I. And he's wrong about his perceptions concerning this rumor. Didn't mean to offend or insult anyone.

Not sure why Tomlin had to bring up Payton and Reid. He was definitely offended by the question
I believe Tomlin was mad because he views college as a lesser job. Basically, he thinks coaching at the collegiate level is beneath him and the other top coaches in the NFL. He's not wrong either. Just about any NFL coach could probably get some sort of college head coaching job if they wanted one. His point with Reid and Payton was basically saying no one is suggesting they should take a big demotion, why should he? What Tomlin missed is no one started rumors about those guys going to USC or LSU. It's happened in the past though with Payton and even Cowher was linked to NC State.

I know the post comparing Tomlin to Reid and Payton was a troll job, but I'll bite. Tomlin and Payton have had basically the same success, both having franchise QBs for basically their entire coaching careers with the Steelers and Saints, respecitively.
