I traded down to 17-20 range and took the OT out of Georgia a couple times.. and picked up another second rounder i used on a CB… two top end OTs… seems legit lol

Thing about Jones is I fight to figure out if he is better suited at G or RT. I have to check on his arm length as he is a tad bit shorter than one might like for a LT. He is athletic so that is a plus but there is some positional concern there. Enough for me not to want to pull a top ten draft pick for him.

I think Ringo will develop into a solid pro. I think he has a decent floor. Not sure if he will be a superstar. That is where i might fight with him at 10. I think he won't be a Bush disappointment but I wonder if it is the best value. Probably wouldn't stop me from pulling the trigger but I would want to see what all the options on the board were.

It was because of how the big board gets picked in that simulator, CBs look a bit overvalued and OT is the inverse so I knew either skoronski or fashanu could be be available and took "the risk". I could invert the order of the 1st two in my head and be very happy with the draft.

A player I want to see further about is Bryan Breesee, DT. The kid looks like a future Heyward as long as he stays healthy, maybe falls to the early 2nd given his injury history and limited playing time to showcase his talents

-I don't like trading down in mock drafts, but the board wasn't great and got another high second. Another big, fast receiver to add to the offense.

2.36 Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT, Penn State
-Without an OT in the first, I was looking for the best available in the second.

2.40 John Michael Schmitz, C, Minnesota
-Top-rated center in the draft.

2.46 Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State
-You can never have enough good pass rushers and the Steelers need a third guy in the rotation.

3.71 Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon
-Good size and has improved each year. I know the Steelers have some guys under contract, but as we have seen with injuries, you need a lot of depth.

Obviously set up a future draft, i.e., the 2024 draft - something I have been pushing the Steelers to do the past 3 drafts. Anybody with eyes and a functioning brain could see the franchise did not have nearly enough elite talent to be a genuine SB contender. In this draft, I use the extremely high value of a top-10 pick to move down twice, still fix the OL with a superb LT, a solid RT, an OG prospect, a pass rusher, and two CB's who have a history of good physical skills and proven coverage abilities.

Oh, and the 2024 draft now features 3 first round picks.
