I likes what I saw. Considering we played without Sid, Geno, Kunitz, Tanger, Dupper, and Maaata, I'd say we held our own. I know it is the first game, but I sensed a different attitude. Still too many stupid penalties.

Seeing Rick Tocchet standing behind the bench warms the cockles.

Root sports said they were televising 70+ Penguins games this season... are the rest on NBC or one of their bastardized channels?

Really fired up. Mother in law is coming into town tonight and Mrs. Fan might just ask me to go to the airport with her. I might be sick at home instead.

Probably. NBC schedule shows a **** load of Pens games.

It's going to be interesting to see if Mike Johnston has this team playing some kind of system or if he is like Bylsma and lets them do whatever the **** they want. That didn't work out well in the playoffs the past few years.

It was reported that Sill is on the 3rd line. Kapanen sent back to Europe.

got the lead back and kept it, Steel G. Win, baby, win! Also, the Ducks have a helluva team. Impressive first game. I was expecting the worse, but they didn't look too bad. Improvement needs to be done, but I'll take these two points.

Yeah, was nice to see them reclaim the lead. They need to work out the penalty kill and clean up in front of MAF. Good to see Dupuis back and being such a big factor.

They certainly have work to do, but they have a lot of games to clean up their game. Duper came to play and was sorely missed in the PO.

This is a different Pens team. We actually have people in front of their net!
We took too many penalties. Maf needs to stay put.

We stuck it to one of the top 5 teams in the NHL. Great win.

Dupuis is Batman! Definitely brings it and he is going to need a lot of attention from other teams....same with Matta. Team seems willing and able to respond to intimidation efforts (great fight Still) and I love that they played 60 minutes!!!! And please for the love of all that is holy and decent will somebody chain Fleury to the freaking goal posts? I'm starting to wonder if he's retarded.

MAF can drive a man to drink. As much as I try to stick with him and think he can be the Pens goalie of the future, he makes me reconsider my position by trying to play the puck. If they don't re-sign him, I wonder what it would take to pry John Gibson from the Ducks? One can dream, right? Looking forward to the game against the Leafs. Should be another good one!

I am hoping that Johnston will be having a conversation wit the goalie coach this morning.

Last night, the team speed was evident when attacking. Still pretty crummy away from the puck and the PK was atrocious. Pretty fond of the new additions. I think going forward things are only going to improve. Quality win against a quality opponent.

Dupuis was the best player on the ice last night.

Cut Fleury and put Bylsma in front of the net, couldn't be any worse

I don't hate MAF on a daily basis. He's a decent day to day goalie but they definitely should be shopping......between PO melt downs and his consistent attempts to do things he knows he can't I would be.

The problem is that he can't understand either.
