SJW Rooney's making the point. Pats making the counterpoint.

I hate it.

I thought we were playing Seattle this week?

Why is everyone fixated on the past?

Why are there no Steelers/Seahawks threads?

Why are so many obsessed with starting another Pats thread, penis envy?

That went over my head. I don't get it.

What is the point and counterpoint as they relate to socialism?

Steelers - Democrat ownership, Rooney Rule, black coach still there in spite of obvious incompetence

Pats - Trumpers, winning

Any questions?

Cheating, Sexual Assault, Kraft, ..fixed it for you Skippy..save your politics for the politics section

I hear you but in this case it cannot be disconnected. This is what happens when SJW takes over. I truly believe that we are the dumbest team in the league.

Tomlin screwed this up. First, he holds a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton in his house. Then he asks the team for unity after a very close vote on whether to come out for the national anthem.

Keep politics out of football you dunce. The fans won't forget.

So you make a political comment then tell him to not make political comments in the forum. So how are you not a dunce? If you haven't purchased a cone hat this might be the time to do so.

The entire internal NFL structure, from the draft to the revenue sharing is socialist... everything the league does as a whole to the public is capitalist.... its a necessary blend of ideals to keep things fair...

The pats cheat... that has nothing to do with any of this. Thats why they win. They circumvent the structures meant to balance talent by making talent levels irrelevant with signal stealing and a slew of other illegal activities.

If the OP had floated this over at Wexell's board, he'd be branded a racist tool and attacked by 7-8 Antifa goons wearing Tomlin t-shirts.

It has always humored me that many otherwise die hard Steelers fans tend to compartmentalize and insist that "politics and football don't mix." When in fact the Rooneys made it all about politics and Social Engineering in spearheading the namesake rule, endorsing Obama in a battleground state, accepting a political favor with the Ambassadorship to Ireland, and Tomlin's Hillary fundraiser and stance on the anthem. But the rubes on the lower decks shouldn't bring politics into discussing the very political aspects of their team's ownership. Yeah, makes sense.

But since we're on Socialism. Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher said 2 things about the movement: "We contend that Socialism is akin to standing in a bucket and trying to pull yourself off the ground with the handles," and "the problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."

Well, Tomlin has pulled both shoulders out of socket trying to get his bucket off the ground against BB, and in year 13 the problem is that he's run out of other people's ideas.

He's put the team and fanbase in the bread lines of success.

I’m not telling people who report to me how to protest. That is what Tomlin did to the people who voted to stand for the national anthem.

Keep politics out of work period.

I suggest you ignore this advice and start making noise on the topic wherever you work. Let’s us know how that works out.

Wexell’s board is a joke. He’ll ban you if you mention the Rooney Rule among other things.

i think its a matter of having yoiur hopes smashed on the first day.

Hoping the leopard changed his spots. Hoping that the new picks make the difference.

I'd even say there are a lot of fans on the edge of saying "**** it, ill be back when they fix this "

That was Margaret Thatcher. Just sayin'.

My bad. I fixed it in the OP, lol. I guess technically I committed a historical microaggression by not crediting the Iron Lady at first and defaulting to the OWG.

I know we don't mention the other company when we come to the WWF, but have you seen that place lately? It's literally a morgue over there. About 10-12 posters who are regulars and that's about it. Matt's back trying to save the place, but I believe their decline will mirror Tomlin's. Funny to watch them make excuses like "message boards are a thing of the past," "it's about twitter and social media now," etc.
I'm surprised they haven't blamed the Russians yet. Adapt or perish.

Get your facts straight Dumb ***.

All Tomlin did was tell the players whatever they decided to do, to do as a TEAM, whether stand, kneel, hold hands, teach you how read competently, whatever. Just do do it as a team. They voted to stand in the tunnel away from giving the media any eye candy. The captains allowed Al to be in front so he could see the colors, the pregame chaos with the field flag separated Al from the team by 50 ft. It gave the field cameras enough time to be right in Al’s face. Before he could move back to where the team was when the anthem started. As any serviceman will tell you, when the anthem plays you stand still.

If you had a way, you would blame anyone on your hit list for things not true.

So football is the ideal of socialism. That's actually an arguable point.

I’ve heard this before and it’s not true. Because at the end of the day, the NFL is 1 big business. It is not 32 competing corporations. It’s 1 company with 32 locations.

That’s why teams are correctly called Franchises. It’s like McDonald’s . McDonald’s won’t let you open a franchise a block away from an existing one. They won’t let their franchises put their Big Mac on "sale". You won a franchise and have latitude in running the day to day but you are part of 1 big business and the policies support the overall success and not what’s best for your store.

That is why they have a reverse order draft and some degree of profit sharing. Because they know that the whole business does better when each franchise is competitive.

It has has nothing to do with a fairy tale concept of fairness or socialism.
