Unfortunately there is no video, but this kid probably destroyed his future.

EDINBURG, Texas -- A Texas high school football player charged onto the field and bowled over a referee Thursday night because he was angry after being ejected from the game.

Senior defensive lineman Emmanuel Duron of Edinburg High School came running from the sideline area after the referee announced the ejection, slamming into the official during the first half of the zone play-in game against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo.

Duron was escorted from the stadium by police officers.

The Monitor of McAllen reported the referee was evaluated for a concussion by medical personnel at the stadium.

The game resumed after a delay, with Edinburg winning 35-21 to advance to the playoffs.

The District 31-6A Defensive Player of the Year last season, Duron also is the Bobcats' kicker and punter and a star wrestler.

****. In a lot of school districts that kid would be looking at being expelled. Pretty sure the cops weren't just escorting him from the stadium.

He's a kid and did something very dumb. It may even be a criminal charge if the Ref chooses to pursue it.

I still see him getting a chance in college, but probably not the school he wanted to go to.

You'll never work in this town again.
Couple years ago I went to a football game at my old college and a player on the other team got ejected for shoving a ref. He pulled off his helmet, shirt, and pads and threw them at the sideline then vaulted the fence and started kicking a car in the parking lot. Cops took him away too.

Roid rage?

Last year he was DPOY, this year he needed a little something extra to live up to the reputation. If you look at his eyes, he is high or steroided out. He will more than likely face assault charges (the state reffered association will push).

Yes a dumb action but he has to be held accountable, if not, then this would be the start of the next Antonio Brown.

Agree. He is on something. He needs more help than just getting back into football.

That's nuts. Coaches weren't sure if he was going for the ref or the other team. Any find video of the penalties that led to this?

I read he had back to back personal fouls then had words with the ref. The team was also removed from the playoffs,
