This was from an undervalued post on Si.com and made me wonder whether he might be able to work out as a conversion to a ROLB?

Si.com said:
Kareem Martin, DE, North Carolina: It's easy to make the mistake of judging defensive ends by focusing extensively on sack production, but wise evaluators understand the importance of finding an edge defender with the ability to rush the passer and stop the run. Martin is one of the most complete defensive ends in the 2014 class, with a game built on strength and power as opposed to speed and finesse. In his senior season, Martin tallied 11.5 sacks, 21.5 tackles for loss and 82 total tackles, using a host of power moves to defeat blockers at the point of attack. While he lacks the tools to develop into a consistent double-digit sack artist in the NFL, Martin is a blue-collar defender capable of carving out a 10-year career as a left defensive end.

Dude is 6'6" and 270 - a little like a more solidly built version of Jason Taylor.

Any thoughts?

From NFL.com
Weaknesses: Needs to bulk up and get functionally stronger. Has tapered legs and is not stout at the point of attack -- does not generate power through his lower half and is too easily displaced. Pad level fluctuates. Needs to improve as a hands fighter. Can do a better job protecting his legs. Average get-off -- pops up off the snap and initial steps are unthreatening. Rush lacks variety. Does not accelerate off blocks or consistently bend the corner. Occasionally loafs on the back side. Tweener traits.

BUT ... he showed the ability to play OLB at his Pro-Day, so I dunno. Bust or Boom, depends on the system and the coach. Not sure what Porter brings to the table, but we will find out.

He probably has more value as an end but with more teams taking 3-4 guys I wondered if he might be of interest.
