Now you!

We need you to replace canada

I don't know OC to well. I'd have a chance at STs in comparison to Bubbles.................. or so we all like to think. "D" is my passion if only from a civilian perspective.

I love football but it was what the STEELERS stood for combined with football that made me fall in love with the STEELERS. The owner / team / coaching has wondered away from what STEELERS Football really meant and is about.

SOFT Coaching becomes SOFT players and that is what we are today.

And if you read/listen to every opponent post game or after game articles...that is mentioned. They are shocked the Steelers did that...They saw Steelers doing same thing over and over....They realized the D played the exact same on every similar alignment...They expected the Steelers to attack (fill in Blank) weakness, glad they didn't....Didn't change playbook or play calls for injuries or back up players including QB (only Steelers do that)... They always know when the Steelers are running or passing....Several this year have already said they recognize the jet sweep and TE pitch Screen.

Tomlin has said before, adjustments? we stick to our game plan! Yeah, like killing Naj but not giving a hat to McFarland cause the other 2 play on ST. So what, add one of the DB's they are used to chancing plays anyway. His boy Snell is way below the line.

Other teams JOKE about the Steelers and hope Tomlin is retained.

Schobert - guy played on the Browns and Jags and HE has to comment that practice needs to be more serious from top to bottom.

Hate them or not, but when you can hit in Baltimore, they hit in practice. Steelers like the convoy of running next to guy with ball trying to rip out and escort for another 10-15 yards. Tackling is taught and practiced. Game planning/watching film is taught and practiced. Practice is repetition of plays until right. Belicheat used to make even Brady stay late until certain plays were run perfect each time.

As for the Steelers identity or scheme? I just don't think they have one! The Defense is about Watt and Cam getting there and hoping that Haden can keep his guy in front of him, Sutton and/or Minka are there to make play. Why call plays when the scheme is so bad! Tomlin Tampa 2 and 2 DL sets just don't work , but they don't see it. Easiest zone to pick apart by any professional QB. Blitzburgh is long gone, over load blitzes are gone, ILB blitz is gone, and the Hilton corner blitz left with him. On offense they are putrid and have been since day 1 of Tomlin. Does not matter who the coordinator, once MT is involved things change. I have heard Haley many times tread lightly on Sirius about Tomlins influence on game plan and play calling. The coaches don't just call the wrong plays, the draw up poor schemes and plays that make them look worse at times. Way too much talent over the 17 + years of this guy to not be more successful. OH, I am sorry he is average Mike with never a losing season. But most teams play for division, playoffs, and THEN chance at SB, MT wants to make sure he does not have a losing season and make his excuses and rinse repeat into the offseason.. HE has become one of his own Clichés'
If that’s the case. Then Tomlin needs to go.

But I stand by my argument the Steelers are already established as a brand. Corporatism/branding is more important than what the team actually does. Play football

I had my problems with the offensive gameplan but generally when you score 37 points you should win.
Looked kinda like our last three playoff games.
Let's not forget that 14 of those 37 points were set up by special teams and an interception at or near the red zone.

Allthough Coach Tomlin's words are heard loud and often it's his actions that seem to be softly heard.

I wish it was the other way around.

The offense got the ball on a short field and did exactly what they were supposed to do. I have a hard time blaming them for this one. Funny thing that's been overlooked, even with all the injuries, the defense still had more first rounders on the field. Two of them have hardly been worth the pick, but....

Also add 3 more points, after the defense stopped LA on 4th-and-1 and gave the ball to the offense on the Chargers' 34 yard line. The offense went 3-and-out and they kicked a field goal. 21 total yards produced 17 points, and 10 of those yards came on LA penalties.

Dropping the ball after all of these years isn't a viable excuse. First year staff&HC would get a pass.

They should be masters at this by now. If you haven't got your **** together yet,you never will.

What a bunch of wasted years.

When we were winning regularly and such I always said we win inspite of some of the **** he is resposible for.

No one hired assistance's away from him due to the entire league wanting them to stay and hinder the team.

Like steelr4evr said, this **** is way past his experience and pay grade to be blundering along in this approach.

Well, I guess the next 2 weeks we'll see how we stack up. As always, I hope we win.

I' always hoping for a win and giving the benefit of the doubt. I just hope the players that return will ake a big ipact (they will) and also hope the coaching staff comes up with a game plan is good and not just square peg round hole type crap.

I’ve never made it a secret how I feel about this guy as a HC. I think he has been made to feel far too comfortable in his position and therefore the arrogance, stubbornness, and overall complacency has long set in. Very little accountability with Art who thinks he would be doing his father a disservice and show a lack of respect if he terminated Tomlin. There’s that bond that this guy was essentially hired by his father Dan.
Tomlin walked into a perfect scenario in 2007 with a high quality roster complete with a franchise young QB not even near his prime with a SB in his pocket already.
He had two very excellent coordinators who essentially ran the show offensively and defensively so all Tomlin had to do was build a rapport with the team, learn the Steelers way and with Colbert, keep the shelves stocked.
Early success went to his head and the arrogance and stubbornness reared it’s ugly head. He started thinking his way was the the only way and therefore the revolving door with offensive coordinators and the pushing out of Labeau.
Then we have the non losing seasons which can be very misleading. You sprinkle in some 8-8 seasons and 9-7 seasons and wella, non losing season record continues.
Keep in mind all this with a franchise QB, generational talent in AB and Lev Bell, players like Martavis Bryant, Emmamul Sanders, Mike Wallace, Pouncey, DeCastro, Ramon, Troy, Minkah, TJ, Harrison, and on and on.
The best we can do from 2011 thru 2021 is a few playoff appearances with only four wins, that’s pathetic.
He should have been put on notice after the 2018 home playoff loss to the Jaguars due to him and the team looking ahead to the Pats. Hell, some of the minority owners could see it then and wanted him gone.
I just keep waiting for him to unleash hell but all he seems to unleash is more of his bs.
Someone put it well the other day on one of the sports talk shows. He’s not a players coach but a coach who can get players.
Once he gets them, he seems to screw that up too. LaGarrett Blount, Melvin Ingram, James Harrison who was here but had issues with Tomlin, Derek Watt signed as FB but not part of a Tomlin offense, one of the best FBs in the game at the time John Kuhn whom he refused to use because a FB is not part of his plan so Kuhn went on to star for GB.
I’m sorry, the guy is extremely overrated, and has been a creation perpetrated by the Rooney’s to re-enforce the Rooney rule.
No, before anyone accuses me of being racist let’s stop right there. If Tomlin didn’t repeat the same stupid mistakes over and over, was better at clock management, game preparation, in game adjustments, challenges, developing young players, not overlooking inferior opponents, I would be one of his biggest supporters. I don’t give crap what race he belongs to, that’s ignorant.
Look what he recently said about having to have a veteran QB and never wanting to start with a rookie QB. If that’s not an indictment of his coaching abilities I don’t know what is.
That didn’t stop Cowher having to go with a rookie in 2004 when Ben replaced Maddox in the second game of season at Baltimore.
Nah, that’s BS! The guy will never lead this team to a SB and never develop a young QB.
Preach!!!

The nearest Steelers bar.
Tomlin is not a bad coach due to his race.

He is also not a GOOD coach due to his race.

Tomlin's problems are many. Terrible clock management, repeated bad games against vastly inferior opponents, the tendency to keep bad teams in the game, the second half implosions, the constant "surprise" that teams do something to counteract a Steelers strength, the abject failure to improve the offensive line before it fell apart.

Over the past ten years (2021 included), Tomlin is 95-57-2, a .621 winning percentage. Looks great. But that record is just 34-22-2 over the past five seasons (including 2021), a winning percentage of .600. Okay, still good ... but just 2 playoff appearances over that span and a playoff record of 0-2.

Mediocrity and not something likely to improve when Ben leaves. Further, a series of disappointing first rounders apart from Watt. Terrell Edmunds, Devin Bush, Artie Burnt, Bud Dupree, Jarvis Jones. Not good. Not promising.

Tomlin, and the entire primary coaching staff, point so many fingers that they need additional volunteer hands to pitch in. Get a mirror.

Butler said he hoped the Bengals ran the QB like the Chargers. Well the first TD was a rushing TD by the QB. Not to mention Mixon destroyed us like Ekeler and Swift. Whether its Tomlin or Butler the D stinks. Bush shouldn't be on the field. He was called out again in the post game show by Chris Hoke for no heart.

Tomlin is Spot On with his comments .....however he needs to quit drinking his own Kool-Aid and Man Up (needs testicular fortitude) and take responsibility for "His" coaching skills....coordinator selections...."His" defense that Sucks *** and player selections (mostly lack of).

If the staff dropped the ball he is responsible. If I was a head coach i would go over the game plan with the coordinators and tweak it. I would also make sure there was at least a plan B. If things still aren't working then time to become more hands on
