Look, the previous arbiter already declared he committed sexual assault against tge four witnesses they brought in.. the league office needs to simply make the case that the guidelines they put down governing suspensions should be applied four times, once for each case.. so 24 games… that would shut everyone up

Salute the nation
I suspend you one year plus a fine in the amount of a luxury S10, or two years on a Cleveland Browns message board.

You choose.

Would be nice for whomever is our leaders to stand up for their wives, girlfriends and daughters and let the league know this is not what the NFL players want to be known for. Watson deserves to be gone period. Everything that has been said by the judge, Browns told to use only their message people on Watson, reality somewhere please. Ben had no appearance in front of two grand juries, he had a letter from a district attorney that had not enough to even send to grand jury. Nevada even the roommate said the girl set Ben up. I am far from saying Ben was a model citizen but Watson actions toward so many deserve big time punishment

let me contrast Ben's issues with Watson... since so many wish to these days

Ben was accused of rape twice. The first time was a completely he said/she said scenario. Nobody but those two will ever really know the truth. Yeah there were a ton of issues with her story and she was never supposed to go alone to a hotel room, especially to fix a tv she had no qualifications to fix. her story for the first few months was that she was going to marry him and was in love with him and was convinced she was pregnant with his kid... ... that wasnt in line with what she claimed later... she clearly showed stalker like tendencies, even showing up at his house, before finally accepting his rejection and then suing him for rape...

Now the best case for Ben here was that he took advantage of a woman who may have had mental issues... not criminal, but not exactly medal of honor stuff either. He eventually settled with her for a non-disclosed amount. This case was utterly unproveable in either direction...

The second was pure bunk. A sorority group was out partying when they ran into Bens Birthday group... they followed that group to several bars. at the final bar Ben kicked one girl and her boyfriend out because the boyfriend objected to him doing shots with all the girls and referring to them as "*******".
After this the remaining girls social media and texts (they all tried to erase without knowing they could be recovered) showed they conspired to set him up for rape to get back at him. The DA later determined what they claimed happened was physically impossible based on the size of the bathroom, and that there wasn't a lock on it... Now he may have had some type of sex with that girl or not. But it clearly was a set up from their own posts and texts.
That doesn't discount the rumors of drugs and other bad behavior at that party. Best case for Ben here was that he was a giant jackass and possibly had sex with a college girl too drunk to articulate things... which in some places could be called rape, even if she consented... he absolutely put himself in a horrible predicament with his bad judgement and rude behavior.

In neither case was he ever charged with anything. In the second, exculpatory evidence existed to discount the girl's claim, but he was suspended anyhow.
In both cases, a woman pursued him.

In Watson's case, he and Houston obviously knew something deviant and sexual was going to happen when they hired the masseuses. They got a special private hotel room rather than just at the facility, they made them sign NDA's to keep them quiet... They never hired a male Masseuse. He intended to sexually accost them from moment 1. There were 66 different women this happened to within the statute of limitations timeframe. He settled with at least 24 or 25 of them, with the expectation they would not testify against him. The NFL cannot compel people to testify. the four they did get to testify convinced the judge that it was indeed sexual assault... the Judge simple ruled that past precedent and guidelines limited her to a six game suspension ruling.
The important thing here is that while no evidence existed for Ben's accusations, Watson freely admitted the sexual nature of his encounters, but insisted there wasnt anything wrong with it.... here is an early breakdown... the details got worse as they came out... he was definitely creating a bad sexual atmosphere for women he hired, who were not prostitutes.
"Two of the cases included claims of sexual assault: Watson was said in both cases to have pressured women to perform oral sex during massages and was accused in one of also having grabbed a woman’s buttocks and vagina. The civil suits alleged that Watson engaged in a pattern of lewd behavior with women hired to provide personal services, coercing them to touch him in a sexual manner, exposing himself to women he had hired for massages, or moving his body in ways that forced them to touch his penis. The incidents cited in the suits were said to have occurred from March 2020 to March 2021."

In a best case, the NFL provided evidence he committed four counts of sexual assault or harassment. That should be a minimum of 24 games at six per....

Don't forget in Watson's case, the Texans also settled with a bunch of the women. The Texans should be facing huge fines and the loss of multiple No. 1 picks.

News-out of Turdland says that Hunt is sitting out-in hopes of getting a new contract…. This further reduces the chance we will ever get to see the Fabled “Assault and Battery” formation with Watson and Hunt together on the field…

In case any annoying browns fans try the Rapeistberger defense of Watson:

Former DA in Georgia on why he didn’t prosecute Ben Roethlisberger for alleged rape in 2010: ‘We did not have a case’
By Christian Red
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

The former Ocmulgee (Ga.) Judicial Circuit district attorney, in 2010 declined to prosecute Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for an alleged rape.

Fred Bright, the now retired prosecutor, "My job as a prosecutor is to determine whether or not I have a prosecutable case, which we did not."

Roethlisberger was investigated but never charged in the Milledgeville case, nor was he charged in Nevada, where a woman named Andrea McNulty accused Roethlisberger of sexually assaulting her in 2008 in Lake Tahoe. McNulty filed a civil suit against Roethlisberger, and a settlement was reached for an undisclosed amount.

Bright says today that he has no lingering doubts about his decision in 2010.

"It wasn't a difficult decision," says Bright. "I'm a prosecutor seeking justice, and we did not have a case. It was not even a close call."

Bright adds that after the alleged victim in the Milledgeville case and her attorney stated that she did not want to pursue the case, Bright wanted to hear from the woman directly, and he and members of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation -- two agencies that investigated Roethlisberger in the case -- drove to the woman's home to meet.

"Her mother and her lawyer and she made it crystal clear that they did not want to go forward with this," says Bright. "It would have been the wrong thing to do to prosecute Roethlisberger. There was that line that I used in the (2010) press conference, 'We do not prosecute morals, we prosecute crimes.'"

Bright says that he is not aware of Roethlisberger making any kind of payoff to the alleged victim in the Milledgeville case. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Roethlisberger for six games for violating the league's personal conduct policy, but the punishment was later reduced to four games.

Says Bright, "There's not a doubt in my mind that had the case gone to trial, a jury would have found (Roethlisberger) not guilty. To be blunt, my decision was the only decision that could be reached by any responsible prosecutor."

Yesterday Watson apologized, well sort of… it came off that he was “truly sorry” the women he “impacted” were upset about it… it was the apology of a guy trying to weasel out of more punishment on the eve of his final sentencing… already found guilty, he is now bargaining to try to keep the suspension at or under a half season …

This is the most reasonable synopsis of this situation that I have heard.

Well done.

Women I talk with want him ejected from the league and never to return.

If " protecting the shield " is really Goodells goal he would have Watson banned forever.

Now we hear he "rejects" some sort of deal. The league now negotiates with him?

Insane.

I'm hearing that since the arbitration process that was used was agreed on by Goodell and the NFLPA, that if he tries to go around it then Watson and/or the NFLPA can take him to court and Goodell will probably lose.

A number of McNulty's coworkers stated that she was not unhappy to have gotten with "Big" Ben.
Although you can't always tell right off if a woman is a head case, she certainly was not a looker and you'd think Ben would be more discerning, but any port in a storm I suppose. Better than the Denny's hostess that Tiger Woods got with though.

They won’t because the process tgey agreed to had an appeal clause that let them appeal the punishment if either side found it unjust

If she had found him innocent of the issue, then they probably have a case, but she found him utterly guilty of sexual assault, but claimed past precedent and guidelines limited her to six games only… like i said in another post, the league could (and did) simply say it was 4 separate cases and treat each as a singular event… that eradicates past precedent

The judge is supposedly letting them negotiate a settlement… he will rule if it falls apart… Watson started off offering a 8 game and 5 mil fine… if i was the nfl id say **** off and suspend him for a year, tgen fine him a years worth of salary and signing bonus, let him sue, and in a couple months, when he loses, push that suspension from when it starts, into the same time next year
