The Warriors defeated the Celtics last night in game 6 to win the series, 4-2. What a team, and what a core of Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and, of course, Steph Curry, who also won series MVP. While the core was the same, they did it this time with new role players and a new bench, pretty remarkable. I thought these guys were done when Toronto beat them 3 years ago and they had all those injuries, but they've bounced back in a big way, so kudos to the franchise for finding a way to reinvent themselves and dominate once more.

I miss the days of Dr J, Magic, Kareem, and the Bird. Once huge money got involved the game went down hill and now the NBA is a hollow shell of what it used to be but par for the course I guess.

It's too bad you missed good basketball. You probably would think the same, but I know you only know what you know.
I've been watching basketball since the late 80's. It was good then, it's good now. I pray to Christ I never become some crotchety old **** that complains about how good everything used to be, unable to enjoy anything in the present day.

Wow...... I thought this was a message board. I must be mistaken.

what value did he add with his contribution to this thread, other than to just **** on the sport in general and try to turn it into more political bullshit? **** him, and **** you for defending it.

just my opinion about the NBA and city of Oakland...

Why is that political and why does my opinion hurt your feelings?

Maybe a former NBA player and/or resident of Oakland?

Late 80s.... About when Shaq arrived on the scene. He was a legit phenomenon.

FWIW, I'm cool with a lot of things today but I cannot stand gangster type **** that has taken over society and sports.

Thanks, I have not been told to **** off for awhile.

How was his response political? Again this is a message board and he has as much right to state his opinion as you do.

he wanted to turn attention to the city in which the team played, how isn't that political? where, exactly, did you think he'd be going with that?

sorry for telling you to **** off, that was a bit harsh.

It's cool. There are a lot of crappy cities out there but I don't see it as a political thing. I took it as he was making a statement as to the state of the city. Just like we do with Baltimore. It's a shithole but there are decent sections and decent people do live there and are trying to get by like everyone else.

Enjoy your celebration. MTC is paying for the shots...

Please have a heart and give to MTC's "Buy a round of shots for all his friends" fundraiser. $10 should cover it. ;)
