Steelers defensive lineman Cameron Heyward has been having a career season so far this year. He has 41 tackles and 10 sacks on the season so far, with two games remaining in the season. His 10 sacks make him the first Steeler to do so since 2010, and the first defensive lineman to have that many since 1982.
Today, the 2018 Pro Bowl roster was released, and Heyward was left off the list, enraging Steelers fans. His statistics have shown that he is deserving of a spot. Also, if he were listed as a defensive tackle rather than an end, he would have made it, as he statistically better than several tackles listed. He takes many reps at tackle, so it would not have been out of the question to list him as such.
While this comes as upsetting news, Heyward along with the rest of the Steelers defense, will pull it all together for a strong playoff run. The defense, especially the defensive line, is the core of the team, and has been the deciding factor for many games this season. They are the steps that line the "stairway to seven".
