Second year linebacker Tyler Matakevich will soon undergo surgery on his injured labrum.
Matakevich was injured after replacing Ryan Shazier during the Steelers come from behind victory against the Bengals. He missed the following week against the Ravens before returning to play special teams.
His limited marm movement kept him to strictly special teams for the rest of the season.
Matakevich recorded 18 tackles, a partially blocked punt, and a full block that resulted in a touchdown against the Browns.
He will have surgery sometime in the next two weeks, and should be ready for training camp.
