According to a tweet by Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette TJ Watt was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the week.
Watt made his debut in historical fashion against the Browns becoming only the third player in NFL history to have at least 2 sacks, and an interception in their first game. Watt helped the Steelers collect 7 sacks against Browns.
His late interception of fellow rookie Deshaun Kizer killed a Browns drive that had pushed into Steelers territory.
He will look to continue his dominate start next week against the Minnesota Vikings.
