After an emotional entrance by Ryan Shazier we learned that the Steelers had selected Virginia Tech Safety Terrell Edmunds. Edmunds was not the pick many were expecting. This pick seems to have a similar feel as when Bud Dupree was selected. Edmunds has great size, speed, length and an elite ability to change direction but like Dupree he will need some time to refine all those skills. This past year Edmunds had 59 tackles, 2.5 for loss, he intercepted two passes, and had four pass break ups. His season ended after 10 games due to an injury to his shoulder which he had been playing through for the majority of the season. Edmunds will not need to become a starter immediately with both Morgan Burnett and Sean Davis both on the roster.
