PITTSBURGH – Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar is partnering with Slippery Rock, PA-based brewer North Country Brewing to produce its first ever, unique-to-Primanti’s, beer – Almost Famous Red Ale. The new brew will begin pouring on December 14 at Primanti Bros., locations across Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Almost Famous Red Ale features specially roasted malts, creating a unique, light and drinkable flavor that finishes with a sweet, yet subtle, caramel note. It’s the perfect way to wash down any one of Primanti Bros.’ piled-high sandwiches. “We’re always working to craft the best experience for our fans,” said Adam Golomb, President, Primanti Bros. “We felt it was time to release our ideal beer – one that pairs perfectly with our sandwiches and allows us to offer a great value to everyone in the restaurant.”
Almost Famous Red Ale will be available in Primanti Bros.’ signature 23oz. pours for just $2.50 during Happy Hour. The new beer is also part of a combo – paired with Primanti Bros.’ Pitts-burger – for just $9.99 during all hockey games. “We’re excited about the partnership with North Country Brewing,” said Golomb. “We strive to support our local community – and North Country Brewing impressed us with their knowledge and their beer.”
The teams worked together to select the Almost Famous Red Ale recipe to bring to Primanti Bros. “The clean malt finish really shines through,” said Jon Barnes, head brewer, North Country Brewing “It’s a great way to kick-off a new collaboration with Primanti Bros., bringing their fans a unique, flavorful beer they can be enjoy on tap all year long.”
Almost Famous Red Ale will remain on tap at Primanti Bros. permanently – available to all fans, every day.
About Primanti Brothers
In 1933, Joe Primanti opened a lunch cart in Pittsburgh's Strip District selling sandwiches to the hungry truckers who were coming and going at all times of the night. Encouraged by sales and positive feedback, Joe expanded to a small storefront where he was joined by his brothers Dick and Stanley and their nephew John DePriter. And that's how the very first Primanti Bros. location was born - Primanti Bros. locations are all dedicated to that early notion that folks deserve great food, with no pretense, for a good price.
About North County Brewing
In the spring of 1998, Jodi and Bob McCafferty fell in love with an old storefront and immediately started renovating it to become a brewery. They personally rebuilt the structure from the foundation through the roof with gathered local hardwoods and recycled on-site materials. When Jodi and Bob opened the doors to North Country Brewing Company in 2005, they couldn’t have expected the support and demand for good craft beer that Slippery Rock, PA had. Over the years, their brewpub has featured over 100 different types of beers. Jodi and Bob saw such a demand for their brews that they decided to open a production facility, North Country Brewing Cannery & Taproom, in 2013.
