The running back depth is getting very thin for the Pittsburgh Steelers. James Conner, Benny Snell Jr.,  and Roosevelt Nix will not be playing this week. Tre Edmunds will be playing after taking Wednesday and Thursday practices off. He practiced fully on Friday and was not given an injury designation.

Ramon Foster has not cleared concussion protocol. He attempted to practice on Wednesday, but didn’t practice the rest of the week. To clear protocol, you must practice fully, and be symptom free the next day. He will try to practice again next week.

JuJu Smith-Schuster hurt his foot in practice this week, was limited on Friday, and is listed as questionable to play against the Los Angeles Rams. Tyson Alualu and Ryan Switzer both missed some practice time this week, but they practiced fully on Friday and neither had been given an injury designation.

I track and try to predict timelines for Steeler players returning to the field. This is a link to our current spreadsheet. It will update on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday after the practice reports are issued, as well as post-game and Tuesday after Coach Tomlin's press conferences. I believe the inactive players will be:

Paxton Lynch: 3rd QB inactive

Ramon Foster: Still in concussion protocol and is listed as OUT

Benny Snell Jr.: Had surgery on his meniscus. Will be out 1-2 weeks while soft tissue recovers. Listed as OUT

James Conner: Took a step back in practice participation this week and is listed as OUT

Roosevelt Nix: I felt he shouldn’t have played last week. He played and re-injured his knee. Now he is listed as OUT since he didn’t practice all week.

LT Walton: Has not been active yet, and may not be again this week

Zach Gentry: Is being red-shirted.  He shouldn’t be active
