Its been a whirlwind of a week for the Steelers as they went against their normal ways by making a big splash in free agency and made their second trade of the preseason.
With a roster that had been mostly sorted out last Monday it now becomes one that is highly unpredictable. Then came the injury to Cornerback Cam Sutton. Pair that with the uncertain status of Mike Mitchell and the question marks are mounting in the defensive backfield.
Now it is my understanding that if a player is put on Injured Reserve designated to return they have to enter the season on the 53 man roster. If they're put on IR prior to the 4pm deadline on Saturday then they can't be designated to return and therefore are out for the season. So that's where a major issue will lie when the Steelers have to trim their roster.
I'm going to make my prediction based on how I feel they will submit the paperwork heading into 4pm tomorrow.
