Former Steelers DB Suspended

By Justin McGonigle

Former Cleveland Brown and Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Justin Gilbert has been suspended for the entire 2017 NFL season. This comes within weeks of Gilbert being suspended four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

Gilbert was the 8th overall draft pick in the 2014 draft by the Cleveland Browns. After struggling for two seasons in Cleveland the Browns traded Gilbert to the Steelers for a 2018 6th round draft choice. Gilbert only recorded three tackles in 12 games for the Steelers. Gilbert’s career likely ends with only one career interception. Gilbert is currently a free agent after being released by the Steelers in February.
