After a late night tweet from former teammate turned NFL Network analysis James Jones set the stage, the Steelers have officially signed Morgan Burnett.
Burnett, who turned 29 in Jan., has spent the last eight seasons with the Packers. While with the Packers, Burnett has played both safety positions while starting 102 games.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the deal is worth 14.5 million over three years.
The #Steelers and former #Packers S Morgan Burnett, agreed to terms on 3-year deal worth close to $14.5M, source says. Finally a top safety off the board.

While the addition of Burnett gives the Steelers some flexibility in the draft the team will surely still turn to a safety early in the draft. It does allow them to look at the inside linebacker position first, even with the addition of Jon Bostic over the weekend.
Burnett had 68 tackles last year while starting 12 games.
