Sean Spence was the Steelers third round draft pick in 2012 out of Miami. During the preseason he suffered a gruesom knee injury that cost him the first two years of his career.
Spence started nine games in 2014, and four in 2015 while rotating with Vince Williams both seasons.
While looking for an opportunity to start, Spence followed defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau to Tennessee. His time with the Titans didn't work out and he was released after the season while only starting three games. He signed with the Colts this offseason before being released on Sept. 2.
With it unclear how long the Steelers will be without Ryan Shazier, and Tyler Matakevich, the signing was an easy one for the Steelers. Spence knows the system and should be able to step in and play in some type of capacity on Sunday night against the Ravens.
Spence recorded 62 tackles and two sacks for the Steelers.
