Steelers Legendary WR Hines Ward Reveals the Real Reason Why He Believes He’s Not in the Hall of Fame as of 2022

Pittsburgh Steelers all-time leading wide receiver, Hines Ward is currently the head coach of the San Antonio XFL Franchise. He’s also an ambassador for the NFL Alumni Association’s Huddle Up: Let’s Talk Obesity campaign. Before these endeavors however, Ward was named to the Steelers’ Hall of Honor, All-Time Team, was a 4x Pro Bowler, a 3x Second Team All-Pro, a 2x Super Bowl Champion, and the Super Bowl XL MVP. These are enough accolades to most to be considered an NFL Hall of Famer.

For whatever reason, Ward still remains without a gold jacket. Earlier this month, it was announced that he is a nominee on the initial list of the 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame candidates. Next year could very well be the year for the 14-year veteran, but recently, Ward expressed his thoughts as to why it has taken so long to officially be inducted — and even beyond 2023, it’s still not a guarantee:

“The feedback, or what I’ve been hearing, is that, ‘Well, you’re (weren’t) an [First Team] All-Pro.’ Well, I wasn’t in an offense to be an All-Pro,” Ward explained during a recent interview with CBS Sports. “We had All-Pro offensive linemen and we had All-Pro running backs, because that’s what our offense was.”

“I look at what I did in the 2000’s,” Ward continued. “To go to three Super Bowls, winning two. I was an intricate part of that team just as much as anybody within our organization. But as my mom always told me, only control what you can control. I can’t control [the Hall of Fame], so just having my name mentioned amongst some of the greats to ever wear the uniform, that’s a blessing in itself for me and that’s what I’ll hang my hat on, for now.”

Steelers 2023 HOF Hopeful Hines Ward Labeled as “Dirty Player” by Obnoxious Baltimore Ravens Legend Ed Reed

Another ongoing argument against Ward is that he played in an era of elite wide receivers that some feel are “more” deserving of the honor. Names like Calvin Johnson (inducted in 2021), Andre Johnson, Torry Holt, and Jimmy Smith to name a few. Even Larry Fitzgerald (eligible in 2026), whom Ward squared off against in Super Bowl XLIII, many have above Ward as far as individual accomplishments.

Speaking of Super Bowls, head coach, Mike Tomlin commented earlier this summer that he believes Ward would already be in the Hall of Fame if he and Pittsburgh were able to secure that third championship under Tomlin’s tenure. Ward however, stated that that’s something he doesn’t quite agree with:

“I don’t think I should have to win three Super Bowls,” Ward elaborated. “Most people don’t have one and they’re in the Hall [of Fame], so you’re saying I have to climb the mountain to win three just to get a bid? For whatever reason, it is what it is.”

Ward further stated his case regarding the era in which he played (and who he played with):

“My best years, I didn’t even have Ben Roethlisberger,” said Ward. “And remember, I had Ben when I was young. I didn’t have Ben when he was a veteran, calling his own plays and slinging the ball 60 yards.”

Time will tell in regards to whether or not Ward takes center stage in Canton, Ohio. If you ask me, it’s a no-brainer he deserves to be inducted, but unfortunately, I’m not on the decision panel.

Just based upon his grit, determination, skill of play, he deserves to get in! Include his numbers, he does deserve to get in!

He has better numbers than some guys who got into the hall, further proving, like the “rock n roll” HOF, how meaningless the football hall of FAVORITES really is! NOBODY plays to get into the hall of baloney, they play to win super bowls and he has TWO, MANY who are in the hall have 0!

It’s prob due to NOT being a household name, a Steeler, labled a “durtee” player by a few former players and not being all smiles and media butt kissy, like most who’ve gotten in, they ALWAYS made time to suck up to the media and those in the media who sucked up to them, knowing it’s mostly the sports writers who get to vote.

Ward shoulda’ polished turds a bit more, than he’d surely be a lock to get right on in!
It’s not just WHO you know, it’s who you BLOW!

Meanwhile Tammy…err…Tommy Brady, the worlds (and sports) BIGGEST SORE loser/SORE winner (after Tiger woods) who craps on EVERYONE at will whenever he loses a game, which IS often these days will get inducted, and prob unanimously, on his very first ballot.

Why?, well, because “everyone” hoped onto that fan-bandwagon and just loves that terrible, sourpuss, whiney crybaby, especially the domos over at fox “sports”, they cant keep Brady’s D**k out of their mouths for two seconds!

Yup, Every two seconds “ohh, Brady this, Brady that, we love Tom, Tom is the best, Tom, Tom, Tom!, blah, blah, blah!”,
Even during BASEBALL games and college football games and especially whenever it’s his BF Joe Cuck…errr…Buck, who I’m so very surprised hasn’t yet drowned to death in a deep pool of Brady’s ManOnayse” splooge!, That know NOTHING about NOTHING idiotic moronic twit absolutely loves Brady, he loves him so much that he seriously wants to have Brady’s children, he also blows everyone on the Patriots (even without Tom), especially “coach” Bill Billicheat, he also swallows the Ded Sux…err… LAST PLACE Red Sox and ANYTHING bostonian, which really IS a classless, third world toilet that deserves to be FLUSHED!

You’ve heard the term “The GOAT”? to mention “the best” at something, sure you have, who hasn’t?!, well, there’s now a complete OPPOSITE to “Greatest of All Time” and that is the DUCK, the Dimwitted Unskilled Corporate Kotex and that IS Joe Cuck,

Right behind Cuck at #2 in the “top 10 DUCKS” would be Yankees annoying announcer John Sterling, please, stick that mindless, senile old fart in a retirement home already and forget about his annoying calls and dumb knick-names for everyone, it’s worse than that fat, smelly, dumb, old annoying Chris Spermwhale that used to be at ESPN who shills for car repair coverage these days who thought he too was funny, but wasn’t at all,

#3 Susan Waldman, Equally as annoying as John Sterling in the Yankees radio booth, but at least Sterling shuts up for two seconds here and there, Sue just talks and talks and talks with LOTS of it being so irrelevant and meaningless to the game she’s working and someone really needs to tell her to SPIT George Steinbrenners D**k out of her mouth, gawd, she NEVER shuts up about George this and George that! ugh, enough already, ya plastic old cow!

#4 Chris Spermwhale, too annoying, dumb, clueless and annoying, if I haven’t already mentioned that!

#5 Chris Collingsworth Mediocre player at best when he played, but most annoying football announcer, he’s a dunce and airhead, dude must be suffering from CTE, due to how much total nonsense and stupidity he spews out

#6 Al Michaels I know some brainless people like him, but I have NEVER liked this clown, dude knows NOTHING about football, has 0 football background, yet blew his way into the booth. He’s nothing but an annoying shill who never knows who anyone is, unless it’s on the short list under his nose!
He is so annoying, I can’t even watch games he calls anymore! he’s too old, and like some others on the list, very senile!

#7 Al Trautwig Ugh, can’t stand that guy! He was annoying as all hell for a handful of years to see and hear back when he called Mets games. I don’t even wanna know what he does nowadays, unless he’s sitting in an old farts home calling wheelchair hallway races on espn-29! lol

#8 Mike Fransayso, worst at EVERYTHING, just who did HE blow to get where he is?
He knows NOTHING about ANY sport or player in any sport, yet thinks he knows all about all!
He’s rude, arrogant, has a terrible me me me attitude bigger than north America!

#9 That Armin Armin whatever his sad, silly camel-jockey name is, that puny little metrosexual sissy-boy is too annoying and sucks at everything these sports networks try having him cover! Who even hired him? Did his daddy trade 32 Quiky-Marts to Fox sports to get him his job?

#10 and lastly, ANYONE who covers Olympic games and wasn’t an athlete!
I’m tired of seeing and hearing tired old brown nosing morning news show clowns try, and fail miserably at calling Olympic sports!

Sorry, after a long weekend of watching many games in many sports I just HAD To get that off my chest!
And in case you hadn’t noticed the accent, I’m NYC born and raised and a lifelong NY Yankees and Steeler fan!
GO GO Black & Yellow! Get it together, get it done and let’s bring home another trophy!

No good reason for all the mistakes, miscues and misplays so far this season!
Ya’ll are supposed to be PROFESSIONAL million dollar players and SHOULD be 3-0 right now!,

I’ve seen tighter coverage, better runs, better catches, better kicks, punts, throws and blocks watching my kids play Pee-Wee football!
    Git ‘er done!

    Best blocking wide receiver EVER.
Also, most receivers – after making a catch – think about how to avoid the first defender.
Hines looked to see who he could run over (or through).

Damn, there are some sour dudes in this string. Ward is NOT deserving of the HOF so let’s make that clear. Yes, the Hall is a lot about playing ability, but also about the character of a man. Ward showed little class and respect on or off the field, that’s why he should not get in

Any time they make a rule change because of you, you are affecting the game too much to their liking. Mel Blunt did it. James Harrison did it. And Hines did it! All changes because the Steelers were to tough and they wanted to soften the league. Because of this reason, I believe Hines won’t be inducted as he was perceived as a “dirty player”.

He was the best all round receiver during his career, he put up the numbers, and was the best and probably most feared blocking wide receiver EVER !!!!!! Every team hated playing against him, but would have loved to of had him on their team.

Hines Ward? Hell yeah, Hall Of Fame. Of course. If Ed Reed’s in there, he should be, Yes, Hines Ward Belongs In There too!
He DOES NOT NEED 2 Rings to be in, BUT HE HAS THEM, come on!

Let’s make this short and sweet.
Hines Ward is one of the best players to have played for the Pittsburg Steelers, PERIOD!!
The MAN should be indicted into to Hall of Fame and should have already been inducted. The powers that have failed an exceptional athlete and they need to correct this injustice ASAP.
GOOD LUCK AND GOD SPEED MR. WARD. LOOKING TO 2023
