Sunday the Steelers strapped on the pads for the first time this season. Practice went for over two and a half hours and featured plenty of hitting before they stripped the shoulder pads for the last team drill.
Several Steelers were dinged up including former Pitt running back, James Conner. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler provided the following list after practice.
Coach Mike Tomlin listed seven Steelers on his post-practice injury report: *James Conner (shoulder, no specifics, being evaluated) *Vince Williams, Mike Mitchell, Senquez Golson, Scott Orndoff (soft tissue, likely attributed to fatigue or dehydration) *Keion Adams and Xavier Grimble (heat-related issues)
Williams, and Mitchell did not participate in practice at all, but were on the field. Rookies Cam Sutton (lower body), and JuJu Smith-Schuster (low ankle) remained sidelined too.
Ben Roethlisberger was excused from practice due to a death of a close friend.
