Steelers Terminate Jon Bostic’s Contract

The Steelers parted ways with another 2018 free agent signing on Saturday night when they released Jon Bostic.

Bostic’s release will save the Steelers 1.8 million, but they will be charged with a 700k dead cap hit. That raises their 2019 dead cap number to 26 million + .

With the signing of Mark Barron, and Devin Bush being added in the draft there was just no need for him any longer. He was pushed down the depth chart and the Steelers wanted to give him a chance to go play somewhere.

The Steelers took two more players that could spend some time learning the inside linebacker position on Saturday. Sutton Smith, and Olysees Gilbert III both could move from the outside to the inside according to Coach Tomlin, and GM Kevin Colbert.
