Another healthy week for the Steelers. Marcus Gilbert, who has been dealing with a hamstring for the past 3 weeks, finally had a full week of practice, so he should be playing this week.
Ramon Foster was the only player who is listed on the injury report as questionable. He didn’t practice at all this week with a bad back, so I don’t project him as being active on Sunday against the Chiefs.
I continually update the Injury/Suspension/Inactive/Fine spreadsheet. Bookmark it to track the status of the Steelers each week. Click HERE
There will be 7 inactive players for the game this week. I believe they will be:
1. Josh Dobbs: Healthy Scratch/ 3rd QB
2. Ramon Foster: Not practicing all week, should mean that Ramon will not be on the field on Sunday.
3. Brian Allen: The secondary is healthy, He was inactive last week, and should be again this week
4. Arthur Moats: It looks like the team is going to make James Harrison active, to help stop the run. It couldn’t hurt, and it would be nice to see what James can do after spending the first 5 weeks with very few snaps.
5. Jerald Hawkins: With Gilbert returning and Hawkins being inactive last week, he shouldn’t be active again this week.
6. Eli Rogers: This receiver position is still either going to be Eli or Justin Hunter. I still think Rogers is redundant with how good JuJu is playing, and it’s nice to have a punt returner that the Steelers can be confident in, that will not drop the ball.
7. Xavier Grimble: Dan McCullers has been inactive the past 2 weeks, and 3 total times this year. I believe the Steelers want to get their best personnel to stop the run, and that means activating McCullers and Harrison. This makes Xavier, who had 3 special teams snaps, and zero offensive snaps, inactive. The backup linemen are taking Xavier’s snaps, since they can block better than he can. With Gilbert back, Hubbard is now free to be the extra blocking lineman, which he excels at, which makes it tough for Grimble to get any offensive snaps this week. This is my wildcard pick, and one that I think the Steelers have to make to get their best players on the field to help slow Kansas City.
Last week I went a perfect 7 for 7. Bringing my yearly total to 31/36.
