Anthony Chickillo Is A Go

First it was Chris Boswell, and now Anthony Chickillo will be the second player the Pittsburgh Steelers place a tender on. The Steelers linebacker is set to make $1.907 million in 2018 under the original round tender.

An original round tender gives other NFL teams the opportunity to sign Chickillo to an offer sheet. If signed by another team, the Steelers have a chance to match the deal or receive a sixth-round pick from the other team as compensation.

Steelers drafted Chickillo in 2015 and was released during his rookie season. Being released and brought back by the Steelers actually benefited Chickillo. Under his rookie contract the linebacker would've made $705,000 in 2018, but with the tender he will make close to $2 million.

With the Steelers, the linebacker has 5.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. Chickillo scored his first career touchdown and the team's first touchdown in the 2017 season opener against the Browns.

Put him as a right or left outside linebacker it does not matter Chickillo can play both. Not only does he help out in defense, but he also assists the Steelers in special teams.
