The Steelers have started the clock on third round Cam Sutton. Sutton was placed on the injured reserve after making the 53 man roster prior to week 1. That allowed the Steelers to have the opportunity to bring back Sutton after 8 weeks.
Sutton will have 21 days from today to be activated to the active roster. If they decide not to activate him by then he will have to remain out for the season.
Sutton was selected in the third round out of Tennessee, and was expected to help at the slot cornerback position. It will be interesting to see what they decide to do with him if they activate him. Mike Hilton has played very well in the slot up to this point.
Dale Lolley from DK Pittsburgh Sports said today that he believes the Steelers will choose to keep him on IR.
His impact as a kick/punt return might sway the Steelers to bring him back, though.
