After volunteering in a series of youth football camps, one located in Mexico, former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Charlie Batch, ended up in the hospital with what he made public a bacterial infection and “severe” dehydration.
“I’m doing a little better,” Batch said on Sunday. “At home relaxing at this point. Glad the worse part is over.”
The former Steeler posted news of his hospital visit on Saturday via social media. Batch also attached a picture in a hospital bed with a tube attached to his nose.
“Sometimes your body tells you to sit yo butt down and take care of yourself,” Batch wrote. “Remember to refuel, recharge and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Let this be a reminder that the heat can affect any of us, including ME.”
Batch also said that the bacterial infection could have spread because of E. coli.
