Retired Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl XL MVP and all-time receptions, receiving yardage, and receiving touchdowns leader, Hines Ward has been named coaching intern. Surprisingly, it's not for the team you might expect.

The New York Jets will add three coaches entering training camp including two Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship participants in former Jets' players D’Brickashaw Ferguson and Calvin Pace, and you guessed it, Hines Ward to their Green & White quartet of Bill Wash coaching interns.

The scouting fellowship, named in honor of Bill Nunn, longtime personnel director for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and John Wooten, a former NFL player and front-office executive, is part of the NFL’s Football Development program. - NewYorkJets.com

Perhaps the Bill Nunn connection is what ultimately drew Ward to the position. Regardless, this isn't the first former Steeler we've seen go from black and gold to the green and white this off-season, but I guess that's the business side of the game.

What do you think of this move by Ward and the Jets? Would you have liked to see Ward on our sidelines, or are you at least happy he's helping develop some of these other younger players around the league to make our game better? Comment below!
