It was a good day for the Pittsburgh Steelers down in North Florida on Sunday. They steamrolled the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-3 and kept their record unblemished.
The defense was stout and although the offense was out of sync at times, it was balanced, and the ground game largely got back on track.
As a total, the team rushed for 106 yards. James Conner accounted for 89 of those yards, with Benny Snell Jr. rushing for another 15, and Ray-Ray McCloud and Anthony McFarland combining for 6 yards. It was far from perfect, and wasn't dominant, but most definitely improved from the last two weeks in which the ground attack combined for 90 yards all together.
When asked where the success came from, Conner had this to say:
"We knew we had another opportunity to keep growing in the run game and keep working on things to get it going...the line was blocking."
Conner also credited the defense when asked about if their performance and turnovers helps get the offense going. He had this to say about the defense:
“For the defense to create those turnovers and give us a short field... the defense is just playing big, they have so much going for them, and we just go off of each other.”
The defense certainly has been playing big and displayed that on Sunday with 4 interceptions and 2 sacks, adding to their streaks of sacks in a game and are now up to 67 straight games with a sack. They only let up 3 points the entire game, and now lead the league in interceptions and sacks:

Now with the running game trending in the right direction, this team can continue to improve. They will look to keep stacking wins in the hunt for the #1 seed in the AFC, and may have to go undefeated to get it. A successful run game would be a crucial element in doing so.
