The Pittsburgh Steelers have acquired yet another badge of honor, as a recent study from Sports Insider found that they are the most hated team in eight states.
That's more than any other team in the league.
The study, which relied on upwards of 90,000 tweets that held the words "I hate the Steelers," determined that the eight states in which that sentiment was most widely held were Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Delaware.
No surprise there.
Both the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns have spent the better part of the last three decades being man-handled by the Steelers, and after taking down the Tennessee Titans in Week 7, they fell in the ranks and rose in the standings in that southern state too.
The Steelers are the last undefeated team in the NFL and have become the talk of the league as they silenced many who believed they would have yet another disappointing season. Of course, none of that matters to them. Not individual stats, not national media attention, and certainly not disparaging tweets from jealous fans of opposing teams.
All they care about is winning.
And so far this year, that's all they've done.
