Steelers Reportedly Tried for Draft Day Trade

No SteelerNation, it wasn't a trade for running back Leonard Fournette that was attempted, instead it was a trade that would've given the team a pick in the fifth round.

Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported in a Q&A segment that the team attempted to get into the fifth round to make a selection, but wasn't able to get it done. The Steelers had no pick in the fifth round after trading their fifth rounder to the Dolphins (for Minkah Fitzpatrick) and eventually sending the fifth round pick they received from Jacksonville for QB Joshua Dobbs to Seattle for bust tight end Nick Vannett.

The Steelers would eventually select S Antoine Brooks Jr in the sixth, and DL Carlos Davis in the seventh round. It's hard to say who they may have been trying to move up for, but it could've been one of those positions.

Safeties Kenny Robinson, and Khaleke Hudson could've been on the radar. Hudson could've filled the hybrid safety that the Steelers likely covetted in Brooks Jr. They could've also liked outside linebacker Bradlee Anae

Maybe Jake Fromm? No we doubt that.
