PITTSBURGH, PA - "Amazing progress" are the words of Pittsburgh Steelers' president, Art Rooney II regarding linebacker Ryan Shazier. Shazier (26), who suffered the widely known spinal injury in 2017 against the Cincinnati Bengals, stated that his "dream" was to once again play football, and everyday is looking more and more promising for him.
"Almost every week, he's doing something he wasn't doing the week before," Rooney said.
Shazier’s current deal with the Steelers is up in March 2019, but Rooney said the Steelers plan to re-sign him this offseason so that he can continue rehabbing with the team.
Shazier has been jogging since November 2018 and continues to be an inspiration to the team and others around the league.
More to come.
