On Friday, September 18th, the Pittsburgh Steelers added former LSU Tiger, John Battle (25) to the practice squad. Battle takes the place of safety Curtis Wiley who has been signed to the Arizona Cardinals active roster a week ago. Battle brings an SEC football type of mentality to Pittsburgh which will be accepted with open arms.
The move is thought to be made for the sole purpose of adding depth to the roster. Who knows, maybe Battle can do enough to find himself a spot on the active roster sooner rather than later.
