We have a training camp date! Since the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys have the honor to play in the Hall of Fame game this preseason, they will be slated as the first teams to start training camp. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Steelers are set to report on July 22nd.

Hallelujah! The sooner football comes back, the better. Now we all know everything is tentative with the current situation in the country, but this is a step in the right direction.

Another thing to consider is NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero has reported that the NFL and NFLPA have had discussions about adjusting the preseason schedule. The talks are very fluid but the idea is shortening the preseason from four games to two games.

Pelissero also discussed that the Hall of Fame game may get pushed back as well, so there are still a lot of variables in play between now and late July.

Would that cause the Steelers report date to be pushed back to July 28th to match a majority of the league? I am not sure, but having dates announced by the NFL is encouraging.

Would you be disappointed in a shortened preseason? How eager are you for training camp? Drop a comment below!
