With the Pittsburgh Steelers' third and final of three picks in the sixth round, Ulysees Gilbert III out of Akron has been selected at 207 overall.
Notes on Name from NFL.com:
Productive SAM linebacker who will need to prove himself as an undersized WILL or MIKE on the next level. Gilbert is an instinctive run defender with a natural feel for maneuvering around big bodies to find his food, but despite his three-down ability, has a disappointing number of lapses in coverage. His lack of size, strength and versatility could make landing on a roster an uphill battle.
Strengths
- Instinctive and smart with a nose for the ball
- Patient eyes willing to key the ball over the blocker
- Swerves around big bodies effectively
- Good acceleration to find runners headed for sideline
- Great effort to contain and funnel runner back to the middle

- Agile open field tackler with lateral quickness to corral slashers
- Has some man cover talent
- Opportunistic scoring three career defensive touchdowns
Weaknesses
Undersized and takes too much punishment from blockers
Lacks desired physicality at point of attack
Pushed aside by lead blockers
Below-average length and strength to pry away from blocks
Passive tackling technique waiting for runner to close the distance
Catches tackles under his pads with poor leverage
