We have also waived/injured CB Isaiah Johnson.
Sunahara was previously on the Miami Dolphins practice squad after signing with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2020. Scales has been in the league for two years and has played in a total of four games. He previously spent time with the Los Angeles Rams and the Indianapolis Colts.

As for Johnson, he previously spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and the Las Vegas Raiders. In December of 2021, Johnson signed to Pittsburgh's practice squad, but was released within a week. He later signed again in January of 2022 to a reserve/future contract before being waived this week.
As rookie mini-camp and organized team activities commence starting next week, it's clear the team is beginning to finalize who they'd like to see battle it out early. There will likely be more roster moves to come in the upcoming weeks.
The #Steelers will hold their annual rookie minicamp during the weekend of May 13-15. HC Mike Tomlin will be available during lunch on that Saturday. A complete media availability schedule will be provided early next week.
