The Steelers’ Week 17 matchup against the Browns on Sunday is extremely difficult to handicap at this point. As Steelers fans may know, Pittsburgh can earn a playoff berth with a Ravens loss on Saturday, and head coach Mike Tomlin did not rule out resting starters should that be the case.

So, how and why would one place a bet on a game that’s surrounded by so much uncertainty? We’ve got a few tips — from bets that are good plays regardless of lineup to wagers that game the circumstances a bit. We’d suggest perusing this list of new sportsbooks in each US state, claiming a welcome offer that’s available to you and choosing your favorite Steelers bet from the list below.
Here are our favorite bets ahead of Sunday’s Steelers-Browns matchup in Cleveland.
Shedeur Sanders Over 0.5 INTs Thrown (-200 on Bet365)
QB Shedeur Sanders has provided a spark at times for the Browns since becoming their starting quarterback in Week 12. But with that spark has come an increased risk of turnovers; Sanders has thrown at least one interception in five of his six games this season, and he’s primed to throw at least one on Sunday against a Steelers defense that’s tallied seven interceptions in their last eight games.
Keep in mind that the Browns haven’t shied away from letting Sanders pass the ball. While many rookie QBs are protected by offensive scheme, the Browns are hoping to figure out if Sanders can be their QB of the future. He’s averaging over 35 attempts per game in his last three contests, and the Steelers — likely thanks to their poor time of possession this season — have had the most passing attempts against them of any defense in the NFL this year, giving Sanders plenty of opportunities to throw at least one pick on Sunday.
Aaron Rodgers Under 0.5 INTs Thrown (-148 on FanDuel)
Here’s where we can game the circumstances a bit. Most sportsbooks are offering Aaron Rodgers passing markets, despite the fact that he may not start on Sunday if the Ravens lose to the Packers on Saturday. But even if Rodgers does suit up, we feel very confident that he’ll avoid throwing an interception.
Why? First of all, Rodgers held the record for lowest interception rate in the NFL from 2011 to ‘23, when he ceded the top spot to Jacoby Brissett. On Sunday against the Lions, he quietly overtook the record once more, completing his fifth straight game without an INT. Even if Rodgers plays the entire game, you know he’s not planning on giving up that record again.
But if Rodgers suits up for limited action — for a half or even just a quarter — this bet will still be activated despite the much better odds it gives Rodgers to avoid an INT. No matter the circumstances, we like Rodgers to stay clean on Sunday.
Aaron Rodgers Under 30.5 Passing Attempts (-110 on BetMGM & Hard Rock Bet)
Like the previous bet, we think this plays well regardless of Rodgers’ playing time on Sunday. If he plays a full game, it’ll likely involve an increased workload for Pittsburgh’s backfield, as the Browns’ offense has trouble scoring and clock management would be crucial to a Steelers win.

Steelers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers looks on with intense focus in street clothes as the team works out during a 2025 training camp practice at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.
But again — if Rodgers starts this game and comes out early because the Steelers are already in the playoffs, it vastly increases the chances that he stays under 30.5 passing attempts. Take the under either way.
Parlay These Bets for +350 Odds on Hard Rock Bet
While we don’t always recommend parlaying our suggested bets, this is a good week for it. None of these bets carry a ton of value, but none of them are longshots, either. And there’s some insurance in these picks: If Rodgers doesn’t play, the parlay is voided outright and you won’t lose a dime. If he plays in limited action, the chances of these bets hitting goes way up.
If you want to play the parlay, Hard Rock Bet offers the best odds at +350. Regardless of the betting outcome, let’s hope the Steelers are playoff-bound come Sunday evening.
