The healthiest team in football sure got banged up quickly. Joe Haden, Mike Mitchell, and Vance McDonald were all injured in Sunday’s game. Haden will not play. Vance and Mitchell are trying to get healthy on a short week and that is a steep task for any NFL player. Both are currently listed as questionable.
James Harrison, has been limited all week as well with his back injury. It is serious enough to keep him from practicing fully, so it must be enough of an issue to keep him from playing this week.
Cameron Sutton probably could have been activated this week, except the injuries appear to have forced the Steeler’s hand. It appears they are waiting one more week to decide what to do with Cameron. The Steelers have until 11/21 to roster Cameron. If they don’t, he will be placed on IR and will be ineligible to return for the rest of the season.
I update the Injury/Suspension/Inactive/Fine spreadsheet daily. Bookmark it to track the status for the Steelers each week. Click HERE
There will be 7 inactive players for the game this week. I believe they will be:
1. Josh Dobbs: Healthy Scratch/ 3rd QB
2. Joe Haden: Haden is listed at out and will not play.
3. Mike Mitchell: I know Iron-Man Mitchell doesn’t like to miss games, but on a short week with a foot injury, it is sure to sap his speed. Better to give him the extra rest to get as healthy as possible.
4. Jerald Hawkins: Another week, another day on the inactive list for Hawkins.
5. James Harrison: Harrison was limited all week, and has been ruled questionable. I think they go with the healthier Arthur Moats this week.
6. Vance McDonald Vance didn’t practice on Tuesday or Wednesday, so he should be sitting this week.
7. Dan McCullers: The Steelers like to stick with 5 DL, and should again this week
Week 10 I went 6 for 7. Bringing my yearly total to 55/63.
