Actively Predicting the Inactive List: Week 13

Two players are out this week and were also out last week. Joe Haden and Vance McDonald will not play. Mike Mitchell also didn’t practice this week and is listed as doubtful

JuJu Smith-Schuster is not listed on the injury report, so he should play this week. We had one surprising wide receiver injury traded for another as Antonio Brown is now nursing a toe injury. AB did not practice all week, and is listed as questionable for this game.

Two players were injured against Green Bay, and both returned to finish the game. Ryan Shazier and Alejandro Villanueva both suffered ankle injuries. Both practiced fully on Saturday, and neither are officially listed on the injury report, so expect both of them to start and play.

I update the Injury/Suspension/Inactive/Fine spreadsheet daily. Bookmark it to track the status for the Steelers each week. Click HERE

There will be 7 inactive players for the game this week. I believe they will be:

1. Josh Dobbs: Healthy Scratch/ 3rd QB

2. Joe Haden: Haden is listed at out and will not play.

3. Vance McDonald Vance didn’t practice this week, and is listed as out.

4. Mike Mitchell: Mike didn’t practice this week. I feel he rushed himself back too early to play last week, and it burned him. He regressed and is listed as doubtful for the game.

5. Matt Feiler: Jerald Hawkins was active last week and played well. It looks like he jumped Feiler on the depth chart, so Matt will not be playing Monday.

6. James Harrison: Harrison was inactive last week. He was banged up early this week and didn’t practice on 2 of the days. He will probably be given another week to get healthier.

7. Antonio Brown or Justin Hunter?: This is the question for this week. We got to see a picture of Brown’s toe before he removed it from Instagram. What we don’t know is if the injury is serious and could be made worse if he plays, or if the damage has been done, and Brown just has to manage the pain. Brown is traveling to Cincinnati, so I believe the Steelers are serious about playing him. So I would have to say Justin Hunter will be last inactive this week.

Week 12 was a down week and I went 4 for 7. Bringing my yearly total to 65/77.
