Big Ben Responds to Le'Veon Bell's Decision

Yesterday marked the end of an era after Le’Veon Bell missed the deadline to sign his franchise tag. Bell’s time with the Steelers is over and mostly everyone was able to assume that after he took all affiliation from the Steelers off his social media accounts.

But, Ben Roethlisberger made it a point to text his former running back to check and see on Bell’s intentions.

“I texted him yesterday before the deadline and told him I hoped he was going to show up and if he decided not to, I wish him nothing but the best. He was a great teammate and a great football player. To each their own on what you want to walk away from. If you need $14, we can probably find some for you from everyone here though.”

After continuous questions about Bell, Roethlisberger commented further.

“Part of the great thing about this sport is the band of brothers and the group of guys in here and being with them is kinda what keeps me coming back after so many years. But like I said, to each their own. Each guy has their own motives and motivations. I can’t comment on him. I’m glad we don’t have to talk about this anymore.”

The reporter then asked Roethlisberger if Le’Veon texted him back and he said no. Bell doesn’t seem to be communicating with any of his former teammates or coaches, even though he is seen voting for James Conner on his Pro Bowl Ballot via Instagram story.

The all-season drama is over. Bell isn’t reporting to the Pittsburgh Steelers anymore and the team can focus on the playoffs and another Super Bowl appearance. Something that everyone’s been wishing for, for a while now.
