With his stock clearly rising due to his obvious talent and experience, it would be a match made in heaven if Alabama linebacker Rashaan Evans fell to Pittsburgh as originally projected in earlier mock drafts. Ever since Ryan Shazier suffered his devastating spinal injury, the defense was never the same. Although his talent and ability to lead the defense can never be replicated or replaced, the Steelers have to look to someone who can help out on defense to the best of their ability. Rashaan Evans appears to have the goods to be that guy.

The numbers speak for themselves and Evans poses a nice size at the position standing 6'3" and 234 lbs. Evans possesses fantastic speed, and an ability to stop the run as well as shed blockers to disrupt the quarterback. Evans has shown signs of explosiveness and the ability to cover the field from sideline to sideline. Evans was impressive in his time at Alabama as he totaled 150 tackles (23 for a loss) and 15 sacks.
If all goes well for the Steelers, they can look forward to drafting a great defensive player that can help solidify their run at winning their seventh Super Bowl.
Here's a thread on another potential first-round target for the #Patriots, #Alabama LB Rashaan Evans. Evans absolutely brings it on contact and is constantly try to punish ball carriers. Bounces off the block here and then buries the RB. pic.twitter.com/sWLprJVBqg

Rashaan Evans doesn't have elite speed, but he has enough to play from sideline to sideline. pic.twitter.com/xp3OT9gDeR
