On Wednesday the Steelers placed outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo on the Commissioners exempt list while they wait for more details about his arrest.
He will be able to be at the facility with the team and attend meetings, rehab, and speak with coaches, but won't be permitted onto the practice field or at games.
Chickillo was arrested on early Sunday morning on several misdemeanor charges stemming from an altercation with his girlfriend at a western Pennsylvania resort. He will make an appearance in court following the Steelers Monday night game against Miami.
Without Chickillo the Steelers were left thin at outside linebacker and were forced to make a move to re-sign Jayrone Elliott. This will be Elliott's third time back with the Steelers since signing during the preseason.
Elliott was most recently released prior to the game in Los Angeles because of several injuries to other positions.
