Speaking today from the NFL Combine, Pittsburgh Steelers GM Kevin Colbert commented extensively on QB Ben Roethlisberger. Answering several questions from the press, Colbert mused that number 7 may come back from this surgery an even better football player than he was before. Following the release of a video showing Roethlisberger throwing a football for the first time since September of 2019, he said the surgery had been successful and that Roethlisberger has had ample rest and a full year without any "wear and tear" on his body.

When asked about when Big Ben will return, the GM was unwilling to commit to a definite date. Colbert said that mini-camp and training camp weren't as important as having Roethlisberger back and ready to go for game one. Noting that every player and surgery were different, he said the Steelers were under no pressure to hurry Ben's rehab process. Colbert sounded confident that come game one of the 2020 season, Roethlisberger would be suited up and ready to play.
