Devin Bush Returns to Voluntary Workouts

On the last day of voluntary workouts for the Pittsburgh Steelers, upcoming third-year inside linebacker Devin Bush was participating in drills for the first time since a season-ending ACL injury in Week 5 last year against the Cleveland Browns. Up to this point in his career, the former Michigan Wolverine star has been successful so far, leading the 2019 Steelers in tackles as a rookie and was having a solid start to the 2020 season before his injury.

On Thursday, Bush participated in workouts on the field and looked good in drills, according to coaches and other players at practice. As Bush goes into his third year as an NFL pro, he is most likely looking to have another impactful season if he can stay healthy the whole year. According to Pro Football Focus, the linebacker is currently ranked as the 17th best at his position heading into the 2021 season.

Coming off an injury, especially an ACL injury is hard to come back from. However, with Bush being one of the leaders among the Steelers linebackers, he could absolutely make an impact on the defense.

It's difficult to say where he will be physically when the league year starts, but starting to practice before June is a good sign for the Steelers defensive unit as the squad looks to try and make a run to win the AFC North in a tightly contested division.
