REPORT – GM Kevin Colbert Heading Back to Detroit?

Pittsburgh Post Gazette

By Justin McGonigle

The Steelers appear to be in jeopardy of losing their GM of twenty years to the Lions. Kevin Colbert is reportedly close to deciding to jump ship and head back to Detroit where he broke into the NFL.

The move comes at a strange time in his career as Colbert is 64 years old, and has been reportedly mulling retirement for the last several seasons. But reports are indicating that the Lions are offering a very lucrative deal to entice Colbert to hang around for awhile.

The Steelers have two potential general managers in waiting with Brandon Hunt, and Omar Khan. Khan has interviewed at Houston, and Carolina in the last week.

Hunt was raised in Pittsburgh, and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He’s currently the pro scouting coordinator.

Stay tuned we will have more information as it’s available.
