Smith-Schuster’s Appeal Upheld; Iloka’s Reduced

Yesterday JuJu Smith-Schuster received a one game suspension for his hit on Vontaze Burfict against the Bengals on Monday night.

Smith-Schuster decided to appeal his suspension and late Tuesday night appeals officer, James Thrash, who heard the appeal decided to uphold the decision. No statement was released, only an announcement of the decision.

George Iloka of the Bengals also received a one game suspension for this hit on Antonio Brown.

Today the NFL announced that appeals officer Derrick Brooks has over turned the suspension and he will only receive a fine.

Clearly the NFL thinks that taunting is a more viable reason to suspend someone than a vicious helmet to helmet hit in the endzone. It’s all about the public’s preception.

Obviously Smith-Schuster was left with no words either.
