The Steelers' Top 3 Revenge Games to Watch for this Season

The NFL schedule has been revealed, and the Pittsburgh Steelers now know what their 2022 season will look like. The Steelers have a lot of intriguing matchups coming up next season, so it'll be interesting to watch how they perform this year. There are some intriguing narratives to go along with the intriguing matchups. There are a lot of revenge storylines to look forward to this season with so many new faces joining the Steelers this off-season. Here are my top three revenge storylines to watch for in the next season:

Honorable Mention: Levi Wallace Vs Buffalo

I debated whether or not to post this because he didn't leave Buffalo on terrible terms (at least that's what I believe), but he'll be facing his former team in Week 5, and you can bet he'll be playing with a chip on his shoulder. All athletes will undoubtedly agree with me when I claim that playing against your former teammates boosts your ability. Wallace will want to prove a point to Buffalo and show that he is more than capable of being a CB1.

3. Mitch Trubisky vs everyone

This isn't a specific matchup, but I believe it is one of the most key ones this season, and one I am looking forward to. Many have written off the former number two overall pick, and frankly, he has not lived up to expectations thus far. However, the potential is there for him to be a starting QB in this league. It's just a matter of whether he can reach that potential. Kenny Pickett's acquisition complicates things a little because he moved from being the clear-cut starter to being in a quarterback competition. One thing is certain: if Trubisky is the starter in Week 1, he will have earned it and if he is given a chance to start, it will be interesting to see how he responds to the criticism of him not being a starting QB in this league. However, I wish they had played the team that drafted him, the Chicago Bears; that would have been entertaining.

2. Steelers vs Bengals

This isn't a player vs. team storyline, but I couldn't help myself. What occurred last year was completely humiliating. From not putting up a fight at Heinz Field, to being annihilated at Paul Brown Stadium later in the season, the Steelers have had a difficult time going up against the Bengals. Last season, the Bengals were able to do whatever they wanted, and the Steelers were unable to come up with an answer to anything. The video of them dancing throughout the game should be enough to inspire the entire team. I had expressed my desire for this game to be broadcasted in primetime, and my wish was granted. Sunday Night Football, Week 12 at Heinz Field. It just doesn't get much better than that.

1. Brian Flores vs Miami Dolphins

This is going to be an absolute blast. If you haven't heard about the entire Flores problem with the Dolphins, where have you been? Flores' firing stunned almost every NFL fan, including myself. It makes no sense to let him leave after the job he's done with a pretty mediocre Dolphins squad. But, hey, one man's trash is another man's treasure, so I'm not complaining. The stakes are already high in Week 11 on Sunday night. Once you factor in the Flores issue, this game just got a whole lot better.
