On Wednesday the Steelers signed defensive tackle Cavon Walker, and offensive Lineman Jarron Jones. Walker and Jones most recently played in the XFL for the New York Gladiators.

Walker, 25, is listed at 6’2 286 pounds. He adds some much needed depth to the defensive front for the Steelers. Walker posted 4.5 sacks and 5 tackles for a loss in the XFLs shortened season.

Walker came to the NFL originally as an undrafted free agent of the Bears in 2018. He was released by the Bears and was in training camp with the Chiefs last season before being released.

Jones is a converted defensive lineman from Notre Dame. He spent last season with the Bills for training camp before being released. He has spent time on the practice squad or training camp roster with the Giants, Seahawks , Cowboys, Bucs , Redskins and Lions since 2017.

The Steelers have always been a central part of my life. I grew up listening to WDVE tapes recorded off of the radio of Steelers fight songs, and wearing Steelers jerseys as a fashion statement. I joined the message board when I was 12, and this site has been a big part of my life ever since. I’ve found life long friends and met some of the best people on earth through this site. In 2015, I was able to help revive the site and develop a news website and all of our social media platforms. I can’t wait to continue to grow with all of you. Go Steelers!
