The Pittsburgh Steelers made a few roster moves on Saturday before the league day ended at 4pm.
The team signed wide receiver Deon Cain, and running back Kerrith Whyte Jr. to the 53 man roster. To make room, they released Jayrone Elliott, and Tony Brooks-James.
Cain started three games for the Indianapolis Colts this season before being released and signed back to their practice squad on Nov. 9. He recorded 4 catches for 52 yards. His last game came against the Steelers at Heinz Field last month.
Whyte Jr. comes from the Chicago Bears practice squad. He was drafted in the 7th round out of Florida Atlantic. He could see time as a returner as he finished with over 1,200 return yards. During the pre-draft process, he had a visit with the Steelers.
More ahead.
